Who: Teagan Rafferty, CEO and Head Researcher of RDC Inc.
When: 10:00 AM
What: Press Conference

" -- Thank you for those kind words. RDC is proud to call Gotham our corporate home, and we intend to continue our efforts at developing new and improved science classrooms and clubs for this good city's schools. In the coming months, we will also be developing a scholarship program for the university, and we would like to invite students of all publically funded and private schools to apply once they are set up, as well as children of our own employees.

RDC is aware - I am aware - of the controversy surrounding our research and identification systems. I would like to take a moment to clear up these conceptions. We are, after all, accountable to not only our shareholders but the public as well. First of all, yes, we do use DNA samples gathered at registration for genetic research, as well as a complete health history, by those that register with us. However, unlike the rumors have so often stated, we will only ever use those that we have been given permission to use by those of the donor. In the case of children, we require not only the parents' permission, but those of the child as well. This permission can be withdrawn at any time. As well, it is within our policy that if we wish to use the sample in research other than what was originally intended, we must request permission again from the original donor.

Our research teams are presently doing research into the various types of mutation that can manifest, and we have made some serious inroads into research on certain types of Autism that would not be at all possible without the help of the mutants who have come to us, of their own free will and fully knowing what their genetic data would be used for. Each one is acknowledged on our wall of plaques that we invite everyone to see at our corporate headquarters, here in Gotham.

There has been some rumor to suggest that we hold mutants against their will. We absolutely, positively, do not do so. Any and all research done on a mutant who has registered with us is done purely with their consent. Do we have isolated rooms with beds? Of course. Sleep research is just as important as any other, and the people who do so are free to leave at any time.

We will be having a meeting for shareholders and interested patrons in one week. We would like to invite members of the press for another conference the day after, where some of our researchers, scientists, and even registered mutants themselves will be available to answer questions. Thank you."
